This one life
drawn
by war horses
toward the banks of River Styx
is now
of one mind:
to depart this road forthwith
discarding this route's preconcepts
in favour of the path of peace
and protest.

For without value, what is life?
Its principle, beginning and its death?
The reason for existance and every breath
are more marvels than survival,
more than some almighty's cosmic jest.

Therefore, to preserve the future in some fair state
balance the world with friendship more than hate,
with concerted harmony more than luckless fate.

Life contains more peaceful power
than hopeful generals or leaders can inspire
so recall this epitath more than the violence of death
a path paved in more than all the hoarded riches,
with which the living dead seem blessed:

No treasure is worth more to hold
than the hand of a child
guided across the busy road
of wars and lies
to future paths,
as yet uncharted
upon the other side.
