Call on us this day,
open up the cloudy curtains
break the morning taboos
and whittle down the hours
Let the sun speak,
and sign its shine,
casting shadows on meridian lines
while we set sail from daytime homes
or dance between magnetic poles
Our flight,
arrival and time depending
on the masquerading laws
of gravity descending
these sea legs last stand,
on shaky ground,
uncomprehending;
impatient at the voyage's ending,
on the solid day-light-savings shore
Beached,
on runway beams of leaking light
guided by the sun's gun-barrel sights
aiming to assert its revolutionary right
to last,
at least as long as the silent night
