Cola mixing demo and private tasting conducted by Kate Rich, visiting artist, in the kitchen of Bulbo, crossborder media collective and previously loyal Coke drinkers, Tijuana Mexico.

Cube-Cola concentrate freighted in over social/cultural networks from Cube Microplex Bristol UK; Mexican cane sugar plus Mexican mineral water from Commercial Mexicana supermarket Tijuana. Mix undertaken by Carla, taste testing, Chilean brandy & patatas bravas courtesy Bulbo.

Location information Coke has a bottling facility in Tijuana hence dominates the cola landscape here, elsewhere in Mexico preferred drink is Pepsi.

Pricing for ongoing distribution From scoping out supermarket shelf prices and the pound sterling vs dollar/peso, it is clear that Cube-Cola concentrate will have to undergo a radical price dive from European levels to be compatible with the local terrain. Based on sugar at $1/kilo, golden hills mineral water at 30c/litre (for 3.3L bottle) & Coke at 60c/litre (for 1.5L bottle), local price of LGE concentrate (18L) should be $3 (or else reclassified as an artwork and overpriced). Freight and packing will need to be seriously considered to facilitate Cube-Cola crossing UK-Mexican border.
