just to let people know, in case anyone has any objections, input or ideas...
i am working on
constructing a small space similar in size to a photo-booth in
the zone at the cube. plans are still up in the air as to the exact specifications
but it should be roughly big enough to fit two people, a seat, camera, tripod
and
maybe a couple of lights although these are likely to be wall mounted.
so.. i invisage something similar in proportions to a passport photo-booth.
the idea is to
document/ take portraits for archive, people who are involved with
the cube [volunteers, core members etc..] and people who pass through [performers,
associates, plumbers?] i am trying to do this in a space with controlled light
so
that the surroundings of each portrait will be the same with the view to someday
using them in series, in the same way that a lot of the photos i put on sparror
[http://sparror.cubecinema.com/adam]
are animatable/ in series.
in order to make
room for this [and also as it needs to be done anyway] hogge and i
are constructing some shelves in the zone to make use of the currently redundant
wall space. the space is cleaned up regularly but always seems to attract piles
of
unorganised items which would benefit from shelf storage.
it would also be good to have more space for bands/ acts to exit from the stage
into
and maybe sit before or after performances [a lot of people tend to look like
they
feel lke they don't know where to go or where it's alright to be, and there
is usually a
fair amount of baggage and kit with them too].
anyway.. i can't
be sure of any further information on the photo-booth idea until we can
see the space we're working with, but if anybody has any ideas or objections
then please
let me know. kari has already expressed interest in being able to use it for
animation
too, so anybodys ideas of other purposes it may have would be usefull so that
i can
bear them in mind while designing it. currently it will probably be a raised
roof/ platform
, maybe with a curtain that pulls round it or maybe solid sides with the interior
painted black. the top of the booth can be used to store the same amount of
items that are
currently in the floorspace that it will occupy.
thanks,
adam
