Cory McAbee is an American filmmaker and musician who has visited the Cube to present his films as well as perform with his band 'Billy Nayer Show'. His cult classic 'The American Astronaut' was proclaimed Cube favourite when it was screened at Microcosm, the launch event for the Cube Freehold project, and the building has been declared by him as the official UK clubhouse for his current crowd sourced collaborative project, "Captain Ahab's Motorcycle Club". Brooklyn based French-American comedian and musician Reggie Watts first appeared at the Cube as part of a collaboration with Bristol Old Vic's international improvisation festival. He has since regularly returned, and has described himself as "an orbiting satellite of the Cube", and the Cube itself as simply, "Dope." International Beatbox champion Beardyman's relationship with the cinema began by collaborating with Cube artist mr_hopkinson for their 'Monkey Jazz' video. Filmed in the Microplex it has since clocked up around 2 million hits on youtube. Later collaborative Cube experiments have been key in expanding Beardyman's dancefloor based act to a seated context, going on to sell out acclaimed shows at the Edinburgh and Montreal Comedy Festivals.
