Here Gallery Xmas Show – ‘affordable gifts & art for xmas’
Featuring exclusive works by Emily Warren, Peskimo, Camilla Stacey, Alys Patterson & Jon Burgerman

Duration: Sat 1st December – Mon 24th December 2007

Following the ‘everything goes’ approach of last Christmas’s highly successful ‘little & lots’ show (which was an open submission event and featured over 100 artists), this year we’ve decided to scale down the artists involved and have carefully chosen our favourite artists involved with Here from the last few years.
Expect everything from one off pieces to plush toys, t-shirts, collage, digital prints, doodles, sculpture and much more. All ready to buy and take away and reasonably priced for those loved ones, or just for you!

When she was small Emily Warren decided that when she grew up she would be an artist, because she was very good at drawing and that's what everyone said she would be. She has since attended art school in Devon and Central St Martins where she fully explored the sense of silliness in her work and what it MEANS. She is passionate about recycling, and generally saving the planet, and therefore uses found materials as much as possible to make her work that is sometimes surprising and often delighting!

Peskimo are Jodie Davis and David Partington who met at Leeds Metropolitan University, graduating in 2002 in Graphic Arts and Design and Multimedia Technology respectively. Their work is a colourful, imaginative world full of monsters and cute animals, pattern and texture, fun and frolic’s. They find inspiration from cartoons, vintage graphic design and the oddities of everyday life. They hope one day to own their own ice cream van.

Camilla Stacey was one of the founding members of Here Gallery, but she gave it all up for a life by the seaside. She makes work using found materials, with a particular emphasis on ceramics and old photos. For this show she is adopting an 'everything must go' attitude and will be re-creating a section of her overfilled home, complete with bookshelves filled with quirky crafts from her 'Made by Milla' range, and walls full of second hand paintings and one off drawings from her collection.

Alys Paterson studied Illustration at Falmouth College of Arts and now lives and works in Bristol. Alys paints her imaginary landscapes where the gardens grow wild and the birds sing love songs, where the lost balloons gather and where everything that matters is just about to happen.

Jon Burgerman is an artist based in Nottingham. He has exhibited his colourful creatures around the world in places as exotic as Beijing, LA, Barcelona, Dublin and Derby. When not doodling he likes nothing more than doing nothing more than nothing.

We will also be hosting 2 craft fairs on Sat 1st December & Sat 15th December 12 – 5 featuring the best of local crafting talents.
