Relay will take you, the listener, around Stokes Croft, making a gallery of this urban space. Artists speak for themselves about the work you will see, talking about their themes, styles and methods. The visible becomes a link to the invisible as each artist talks about their practice as a whole. The tour will take you to such hotspots as the Cube Cinema and Jamaica Street Studios, beginning, of course, at the Here shop and gallery. Using binaural recording techniques, the soundtrack merges with the noises of the street for complete 'surround sound.'
The title ‘Relay’ refers to the transient nature of both a group of artists working in one area at any one time as well as to the continuity of the work they produce. Relay turns Stokes Croft into a destination itself rather than just an area to pass through. Relay can still be downloaded free here but can no longer be picked up from the here shop.
Duration: approx. 1 hour 10 minutes - We highly reccomend that you listen on headphones for optimum pleasure!

PLEASE TAKE THIS TOUR SOON - some of the work is temporary and a lot has already disappeared!!

can you please also email us and tell us your name, postcode, where you heard about relay and what you thought! thanks!!
