Greetings. Bluescreen has its last ‘regular’ bluescreen night on 17th June before taking a summer break (details below) . So get those films in!

Plus (I) we are pleased to announce a very special Bluescreen night happening in July at The Cube Cinema, in conjunction with Shambala Festival. At which Shambala will be giving the opportunity to 2 filmmakers to win free tickets to go and make a film at Shambala Festival 2009, in august! (Check in at our myspace site for more details)

Its the last Bluescreen for a coupla months, So we want to see those films! If you’re a Filmmaker, BRING them along (20 mins or under) and we will put them up on the Cubes Big Screen.

We want you to bring your mini features, animations, no budget low budget, promos, experimental, whatever shorts!

Dont forget we are looking for short films for our slot at this years Shambala Festival, if you wanna submit a film, please bring it along tonite.

NOt a filmmaker? Come along anyway and check out some of the best of Bristol made films.

Kicking off the evening will be a LIVE score, to archived bluescreen Films, by the CUBE’s very own in-house ORCHESTRA.

Then your Films! Bring along DVD, Mini DV etc.

DJs Bluescreen Hi-Fi, will be spinning the toones in the bar throughout the evening.

So come to the Cube’s favourite and Bristols ONLY truly independent OPEN screen Film night and experience the best in Bristol Filmmaking!

Patrick Joyce, an old friend of The Cube was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease last year. He is doing a sponsored half marathon ( in a wheelchair pushed by others ) next month to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association ( www.mndassociation.org ) , who have given him a stairlift. As their funds are used to supply equipment, and research the condition - he wants to reimburse them towards the research side.

In support of him we are doing 2 events at The Cube on Saturday the 16th of May ( a week before the marathon ). A rare outing of Annabel Other’s Bristol Art Library ( TBAL ) . . .

. . . which will come along with a raffle, featuring BAFTA level prizes, and cake stand , with cakes made by a BAFTA winner standard baker.

In the evening there’s a cut price party night chock-full of delights . . .
