Open open cola lab during Cube-Cola's miniresidency at Isis Arts, July 1-14 2007.

In an intense 1-day of activity, Cube-Cola received a sample shipment of 99.99% pure vanillin from SRS Aromatics in the mail (to be incorporated in future recipe tests), and conducted a long awaited Recipe Rewrite, updating our current recipe to incorporate current mass-production strategy and measurements. We also tested out the rigourous use of home improvement masks and latex gloves during the concentrate-making process, to protect selves against volatile fumes and mood swings of the essential oils: tangible success.

From 4-8PM, lab visitors got to view live emulsification action and cola concentrate mass-production (hammer drill courtesy Star and Shadow cinema; additional lab equipment thanks to Sneha Solanki, Sharon Bailey and Michelle Hirshhorn) and enjoy the fruits of the session with regional specialities of tesco no name sparkling water, tate & lyle sugar, jamaican rum (courtesy David Butler) and kettle chips.

The following morning, the lab was bagged up for socially-negotiated shipment back to Bristol via as it turned out Exeter.
